The Importance of a Vow

This past Sunday the Lord moved in a mighty way during service. The people of God where blessed and our visitors where blessed and the alter was being worked to the fullest. The Holy Ghost was moving in a mighty way. The thought, which was given to the people was, "A Vow." (Gen 35: 1-7) Jacob vowed a vow to the Lord that the God of his father would be his God, if, God would deliver him from trouble. (Gen 28:17-22) After all, he was running from his brother, because he stole Esau's birthright. For 20 years Jacob lived in Haran and for about 10 years of that he lived in Cannan and it had appeared that he had forgotten the vow he made at Bethel. How many times have we made a vow only to have forgotten it? We've might have said, "Oh, well." Or maybe, now that everything is going good and your worries are now behind you now that God has delivered you.
